Home Inspection

A Home Inspection You Can Actually Rely On

Not every inspector is the same.

In Kansas, home inspection isn't a regulated industry. No license, no certification, no training is legally required — anyone can print a business card and call themselves an inspector. We don't do business that way.

At API, every inspector is certified through ICA (Inspection Certification Associates), and our team holds membership with ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors), giving us access to ongoing continuing education, a strict code of ethics, and rigorous standards of practice. When you work with us, you get a trained, experienced team that knows what they're looking at — and knows how to communicate what they find in plain language.

Experience

Experience That Goes Beyond the Checklist

Michael Russell spent 28+ years as a professional firefighter, starting API while still on the job. That background shapes the way he approaches every property. He walks in knowing how buildings fail, where risk hides, and what separates a minor maintenance item from a genuine safety concern. His son brings that same level of care and training to every inspection he completes.

Together, they've built a reputation in Wichita for being thorough, honest, and easy to work with. That's not an accident. It's the standard they hold themselves to on every single job.
